Deep within the Cantabrian Mountains dwell Los Osos Pardos Cantabricos de España Norte. The brown bears of Northern Spain. For centuries. These majestic bears have been a symbol of pride, hard work and natural splendor – the same ingredients that make this wine so delicious. Bienvenido a Oso Pardo.
The winery that created this Tempranillo was founded over 30 years ago, when 28 winegrowing families decided to join and work together, creating something larger than any of them could have done on their own. To this day, the estate operates as a cooperative, with over 6,000 acres of organic vineyard with about 60 viticulturalists and vintners.
The grapes for this wine come from organic vines planted 30-50 years ago over 2,000 feet above sea level, where they were exposed to over 3,000 hours of sunshine over the course of the year, leading to ripe, delicious fruit. After being harvested during the night to protect the quality of the fruit, the grapes fermented and macerated for 10 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before aging and bottling, unfined and lightly filtered.
Did You Know? Tempranillo is the most widely planted varietal in Spain.
